Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I have a doula?

Evidence shows that having a doula results in 25% shorter labors, 60% less epidural requests, 40% reduction in pitocin usage, and 40% reduction of forceps deliveries.

What kind of training do you have?

I am a CLD (Certified Labor Doula) through New Beginnings Doula Training.

When do you meet with me during labor?

I come whenever mom feels she needs the extra support. We can meet at your home to labor there as long as possible or we can meet at the hospital. I will be on call from the moment hired.

What areas do you cover?

In North Carolina I cover Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Sanford, Hope Mills, Raeford, Cameron, Southern Pines, Cary, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, and Lillington. However if you do not see your area listed here, but are still interested in working with Annessa Germond Doula services, contact me and we can discuss some options.

What if you can't make the birth?

In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend a birth, I have a wonderful backup doula who shares in the same values. If there is any concern that I would not be there we would set a meeting up with your backup doula to ensure your comfort.
